December 7, 2017, Gibraltar – STK is delaying its Token Generation Event to coincide with STACK’s public beta launch in January, 2018. The public token sale will run from January 31 to February 14, 2018. The STK pre-sale is currently running and will end as scheduled on December 10, 2017 at 16:59 UTC.

STK is the first mass market instant cryptocurrency payment solution, providing access to more than 33 million merchants around the world.

“There is a growing demand for improved liquidity of cryptocurrency,” said Miro Pavletic, Director of STK. “Having a beta product in the market during our token sale will provide the first public proof-of-concept in the cryptocurrency payments space and solidify our position as the premiere mass market solution for instant crypto payments at point of sale.”

STK is also reducing its hard cap to $17MM USD, projecting early traction to support funding for future deliverables.

“Based on the response from our community and investment network, we’re anticipating fast growth in our initial markets,” said Pavletic. “This will allow us to replace a higher hard cap with early revenue, fuelling international expansion and supporting a larger user base.”

The STK token supply will remain the same at 500,000,000, of which 55% will be available for sale for a total public supply of 275,000,000. The token price has been updated to $0.10 USD. Token distribution will be based on the conversion rates from Ether to USD 24 hours before the close of the public sale or when the sale hard cap is reached, whichever comes first.

Australian probe into child abuse attacks Catholic celibacy

Dec 15, 2017

CANBERRA, Australia — An Australian inquiry into child abuse recommended Friday that the Catholic Church lift its demand of celibacy from clergy and that priests be prosecuted for failing to report evidence of pedophilia heard in the confessional. Australia's Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse delivered its final 17-volume report and 189 recommendations following a wide-ranging investigation. Australia's longest-running royal commission — which is the country's highest form of inquiry — has been investigating since 2012 how the Catholic Church and other institutions responded to sexual abuse of children in Australia over 90 years. The report heard...

PHOENIX — An Arizona jury has refused to award damages against former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio at a civil trial for bringing a since-dismissed criminal case against one of Sen. Jeff Flake's sons in the heat-exhaustion deaths of 21 dogs. Jurors late Thursday ruled against Austin Flake and his then-wife Logan Brown in their malicious-prosecution lawsuit stemming from Arpaio's investigation into the heat-exhaustion deaths of 21 dogs at a kennel operated by Flake's in-laws. Flake and Brown, who were in college at the time, were caring for the dogs while the in-laws were out of town. Stephen Montoya, the...

4 Palestinians killed in latest Jerusalem fallout clashes

Dec 15, 2017

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip — Four Palestinians were killed by Israeli fire and dozens more wounded along with an Israeli officer in clashes across the West Bank and near Gaza's border on Friday as the fallout continued over President Donald Trump's announcement last week recognizing Jerusalem as Israel's capital. Protests in response to Trump's announcement, which departed from decades of U.S. policy that the fate of Jerusalem should be decided through negotiations, have yet to relent across various Arab and Muslim countries in the region. Following Friday prayers, Palestinians in the West Bank and along the Gaza border set fire...

WASHINGTON — The Latest on Secretary of State Rex Tillerson's comments on North Korea (all times local): 11:05 a.m. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has backtracked from an early offer of unconditional talks with North Korea. Tillerson told the U.N. Security Council on Friday that "North Korea must earn its way back to the table." SAN FRANCISCO — The Latest on (all times local): 8:50 a.m. People are waiting in a line half a block long outside San Francisco City Hall to view the closed casket of the late Mayor Ed Lee.
